【New Publication】Development of a Platinum Linker Complex as a Scaffold for the Hybridization of Naturally Occurring DNA and Gold Nanoparticles!

We developed a “platinum linker complex” capable of binding naturally occurring DNA to gold nanoparticles. The resulting DNA–gold nanoparticle composites are expected to find broad applications as composite materials with both stimuli-responsive and photofunctional properties.Conventional methods required the use of artificially synthesized DNA, which limited the flexibility of composite design. This achievement demonstrates the potential of utilizing long-chain, naturally occurring DNA, which is abundant in nature, as a foundational material. This advancement significantly expands the possibilities for designing and applying multifunctional materials. The results were obtained through joint research with Osaka University, led by Mr. Yasui, a second-year master’s student.
