【Abstract】In this presentation, we will explore the key stages that a scientific publication undergoes at a large scientific journal. These include submission, pre-screening, peer review, and the initial decision process. We will examine the responsibilities of authors, editors, and reviewers throughout these stages. Additionally, we will discuss how to select the most suitable journal for your submission and offer strategies to maximise your chances of success. Finally, we will consider important bibliometric indicators, such as the h-index, impact factor, and Citescore.
