DAY ON
CAMPUS #2
- Housing Type
- Rental Apartment
- Favorite Spots on Campus
- Around the Fudai Pond
After waking up, I spend about 10 minutes catching up on the news to activate my mind. I then have a nutritious breakfast before cycling to campus. During the 15-minute ride, I mentally plan my experiments for the day.
and Equipment
Once I arrive at the lab, I check the condition of the reagents and tools needed for my experiments. Depending on what I find, I may adjust my plan.
Before starting the day's experiments, I analyze the data from the previous day. If something seems off, I investigate the cause and repeat the experiment if needed.
Preparation
I prepare for the afternoon experiments by setting up equipment in the glove box and drying or recovering reagents.
There are plenty of lunch options — buying from the on-campus store (co-op), eating at the cafeteria, or bringing a homemade Chinese lunch box to share with lab mates.
My research focuses on rechargeable aluminum batteries. I work on preparing cathode materials, mixing electrolytes, and performing charge-discharge tests.
During the waiting time during the experiment, I study on my own — reading papers or learning data analysis techniques on YouTube.
The experimental data will be collected and processed by the end of the day. If I get unexpected results, I consult my supervisor or lab mates.
On the way home, I stop at the supermarket to buy ingredients for dinner. In the evening, I relax by watching anime, which also helps improve my Japanese listening skills.
