Our Doctoral Student Selected for Support under the SPRING Program

A doctoral student in our laboratory has been selected to receive support through the Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation program (SPRING) of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).

SPRING supports doctoral students who will contribute to the future of science, technology, and innovation in Japan. Selected students receive an allowance equivalent to living expenses and research funding, as well as diverse professional development opportunities, including programs that foster international and interdisciplinary perspectives, career development, transferable skills training, and internships. This support enables students to focus on original, challenging, and interdisciplinary research while developing skills for a wide range of future careers.

Our laboratory helps students obtain the funding needed for their research by providing information about support programs, assisting them in organizing their research plans, helping improve application materials, and offering advice on clearly communicating the significance and future potential of their work. This selection reflects the student’s dedication and enthusiasm for research and represents another achievement of our laboratory’s research and career support efforts.

We will continue to create an environment in which each student can pursue ambitious research and grow as a researcher. We will also actively support students in seeking external funding, including research grants and scholarships.
