Two Projects from Our Department Selected for the 2nd Call of the SPReAD Program (AI for Science), FY2026
We are pleased to announce that two research projects from our department—led by Associate Professor Hiroaki Takita and Lecturer Hiroto Mitsuyama—have been selected in the 2nd call for proposals of the "AI for Science Seeds of Challenging Research Program (SPReAD)" under the AI for Science Program for Transforming Scientific Research (FY2026).
With an acceptance rate of only 3.7%, this was an extremely competitive call, making the selection of two projects from a single department a remarkable achievement.
Selected Projects
- No.63 / Research Field: Clinical Science
Project title: Building an AI-based digital twin platform for radiology departments: quantitative prediction of turnaround time (TAT) to report completion
Principal investigator: Hiroaki Takita (Osaka Metropolitan University) - No.86 / Research Field: Clinical Science
Project title: Proof of concept for an integrated local LLM and deep learning platform to make closed-network multi-institutional chest X-ray research AI-ready
Principal investigator: Hiroto Mitsuyama (Osaka Metropolitan University)
Both projects are challenging initiatives that connect real-world clinical data with AI technologies to create new value in clinical science. We look forward to sharing further progress in the future.
