Call for Papers | 23rd Urban Culture Research Forum in Bangkok
We are currently inviting presentation proposals for the 23rd Urban Culture Research Forum, to be held on March 3-4, 2026.
This Forum began in 2003 through a collaboration between Chulalongkorn University and Osaka City University (as it was then known). Since 2012, it has been supported by the Center of Excellence for Thai Music and Culture, and has been held as an international platform that promotes interdisciplinary and cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration.
Under this year’s theme, Urban Voices, we explore how urban culture and the arts can contribute to the sustainable development of vibrant, livable cities and to the continuity of cultural heritage, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We welcome presentations from scholars, graduate students, and artists working in visual art, design, music, creative arts, performance studies, dance, cultural studies, ethnomusicology, and related fields such as creative arts therapies and urban planning. From interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives, we aim to deepen discussion on how urban culture and the arts can enhance well-being, health, diversity, and resilience for both communities and individuals.
