On August 6, 2025, Prof. Carin Holroyd from the College of Arts and Science, University of Saskatchewan, Canada, visited UReC. Prof. Ikuta and Associate Professor Pan from UReC welcomed and exchanged information with her. Prof. Holroyd has previously worked at a Japanese university. The discussion primarily focused on various topics related to disaster prevention in Japan, including community-based disaster management, evacuations behaviors, and the role of businesses in disaster prevention. She expressed particular interest in research and activities related to these topics. Prof. Ikuta and Associate Professor Pan also introduced the activities of OMU and UReC. We hope this visit will serve as a catalyst for future collaboration.
