Academic Paper on Research Results by Prof. Yutaka Amao et al. at Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis, Osaka Metropolitan University, Selected for Front Cover of Sustainable Energy and Fuels

The paper titled "Colloidal platinum nanoparticles dispersed by polyvinylpyrrolidone and poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) with high catalytic activity for hydrogen production based on formate decomposition" by a research group led by Professor Yutaka Amao (Director and Professor, Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis, Osaka Metropolitan University) et al. has been featured on the front cover of Sustainable Energy and Fuels issued by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

In this study, using platinum nanoparticles functionalized with a cationic polymer, they successfully dramatically improved the efficiency of hydrogen production from formic acid. The design of the front cover images the platinum nanoparticles functionalized with a cationic polymer as firework sparks, and when formic acid is ignited, hydrogen and CO2 shoot up like fireworks.
