FY2023 Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis Student Activity Award

Mika Takeuchi (Graduate Student, Graduate School of Science, Osaka Metropolitan University)

"I am truly honored to receive the Student Activity Award. Three years ago, with the sole desire to work on research utilizing carbon dioxide, I requested my laboratory assignment. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the professors and seniors who always guided me kindly and patiently when I was completely new to everything at the beginning. This year, I was blessed with the opportunity to participate in an international conference held in person, which allowed me to broaden my perspective as a researcher despite being a student. Starting this spring, I will be working for a manufacturer. While what is required of me there will change from my student days and the situations where I can directly apply what I learned may decrease, I will make humble efforts to utilize what I learned during my three years in the laboratory in a different way."

FY2023 Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis Student Presentation Award

(Platinum Award)

Kyosuke Yamada (4th-year Undergraduate Student, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Osaka Metropolitan University)

"Thank you very much for selecting me for the Student Presentation Award. I believe this is thanks to the guidance I received from many people since I was assigned to the laboratory. I would like to express my gratitude to Professor Amao for his encouragement, as well as to the laboratory staff, seniors, and everyone who helps me on a daily basis. I am very happy that our presentation on the construction of an amino acid synthesis system based on carbon-nitrogen bond formation driven by visible light, which I worked on this past year, was highly evaluated. Encouraged by this award, I will devote myself even more to research activities after entering graduate school. Thank you very much for this opportunity."

(Gold Award)

Ryo Mitsuta (1st-year Graduate Student, Department of Applied Chemistry and Bioengineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka Metropolitan University)

"I am deeply honored to receive the Student Presentation Award. I believe I was able to receive such an award thanks to the support of the laboratory students and the guidance and encouragement of the faculty members, especially Assistant Professor Yamada. In particular, while job-hunting activities intensified due to their earlier schedule, I was able to balance my research and job-hunting thanks to Assistant Professor Yamada's understanding of job-hunting and the support of my classmates, for which I am extremely grateful. I am still inexperienced as a researcher. Therefore, aiming for further growth and research results, I will work even harder on my research. I look forward to your continued guidance and support."

(Gold Award)

Shintaro Yoshikawa (4th-year Undergraduate Student, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Osaka Metropolitan University)

"I feel greatly honored to receive the Student Presentation Award at the Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis Annual Research Report Meeting, and I am sincerely grateful to the professors who consistently guide me. I would also like to express my gratitude to everyone in the laboratory who has helped me in my daily research life. Regarding the research I presented this time, I received valuable opinions and found new challenges, so I would like to work daily aiming for further development from next fiscal year. Lastly, I would like to express my deep gratitude to everyone involved in hosting this annual research report meeting."
