On Thursday, June 22, 2023, a commemorative lecture meeting was held at the Sugimoto Campus to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis (ReCAP) at our university. In addition, the kickoff symposium for the "Joint Usage/Research Center for Catalysis," which has been certified as a joint usage/research center by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), was held at the same time.

At the beginning of Part I, President Masahiro Tatsumisago (Osaka Metropolitan University), who participated online, congratulated ReCAP on its ten years of research achievements and expressed his expectations for further development in the future. In the commemorative lecture, Yasushi Sekine (Professor, Waseda University) spoke on "Future Energy and Materials Toward Achieving 2050 Carbon Neutrality," and a lively exchange of opinions took place during the Q&A session. Subsequently, Yutaka Amao (Professor and Director of Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis, Osaka Metropolitan University) introduced the "10-Year History and Future Prospects" and expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation received so far.

As Part II, the Kickoff Symposium of the Joint Usage/Research Center for Catalysis was held, and Ken-ichi Shimizu (Professor and Director of Joint Usage/Research Center for Catalysis, Institute for Catalysis, Hokkaido University) provided an introduction to each core site. Following this, explanations of the latest research were given by the Institute for Catalysis at Hokkaido University and ReCAP.

Many stakeholders participated both in person and online, and enthusiastic opinions were exchanged for future research, making it a highly meaningful occasion.
