Proposal by Prof. Yutaka Amao and His Team Wins OSAKA REBORN Award in REBORN Content Discovery PROJECT

A research team led by Yutaka Amao (Professor, Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis, Osaka City University) won the "OSAKA REBORN Award" in the REBORN Content Discovery PROJECT.

Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City are considering the approach for pavilion exhibitions and participation suitable for the host city of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. To this end, they compiled the "Basic Draft Concept for Pavilion Exhibition and Participation at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan." This draft concept aims to realize exhibitions where visitors can experience "life," "health," and future lifestyles, while conveying Osaka's vitality and appeal to people worldwide.

Furthermore, the main theme of the pavilion exhibition and participation is "REBORN." With the meaning that "people can be reborn" and "take a new step forward," it aims to achieve exhibitions and events that remain deeply engraved in the hearts of visitors through experiences and co-creation.

In order to embody this concept and contribute to the consideration of specific content for exhibitions and events in Osaka's pavilion, proposals for concrete content to be realized in 2025 were being invited.

Out of a total of 208 idea proposals submitted by 118 organizations, 8 ideas were selected for the "OSAKA REBORN Award." The idea proposed by Professor Amao and his team is "Experience the Future Technology Where Carbon Dioxide Is Reborn into Plastics."
