Haruki Muramatsu, a second-year student at Tokyo Metropolitan Nishi High School, visited our center as part of his independent inquiry activities. His research focuses on two main themes: "Why has artificial photosynthesis not yet been practicalized?" and "What kinds of technologies are required for its practicalization?" In response to his requests, Director Yutaka Amao provided thorough and detailed explanations.

Comments from Haruki Muramatsu:

"I was deeply impressed by the explanation that even among researchers, the ultimate goal of what to produce from CO2 has not yet been set in stone. I realized that building a society capable of utilizing these new technologies will also pave the way for the realization of artificial photosynthesis."

Tuesday, August 27: SSH Research Club, Kumamoto Prefectural Amakusa High School

Forty-one students from the SSH (Super Science High School) Research Club at Kumamoto Prefectural Amakusa High School visited our center as part of their SSH Kansai Study Tour. Each member of the club engaged in the training with the goal of identifying their own research themes to apply to their personal studies. Even after the session concluded, the high school students eagerly approached Director Amao to passionately seek his guidance and advice.
