Prof. Yutaka Amao Introduces Artificial Photosynthesis Technology Exhibits at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Media Day

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, a "Media Day" was held to open the venue and pavilion interiors of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan to members of the press. Professor Yutaka Amao from the Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis introduced the exhibits related to artificial photosynthesis technology inside the "Iida Group x Osaka Metropolitan University Joint Pavilion."

Artificial photosynthesis technology, which aims to create energy by utilizing carbon dioxide, is a key technology for achieving energy self-sufficiency in residential housing. Joint research between our university and Iida Group Holdings Co., Ltd. began in 2015.

The "Iida Group x Osaka Metropolitan University Joint Pavilion" will feature exhibits where everyone from children to adults can visually and enjoyably learn about the mechanisms of artificial photosynthesis and its differences from natural plant photosynthesis, in addition to showcasing the latest actual artificial photosynthesis devices and demonstration experiment videos.
