大阪公立大学博士後期課程・博士課程に2025年春（4月）入学者、2025年秋(9.10月)入学者、2026年春(4月)入学予定者もしくは2026年秋(9.10月)入学予定者を対象とした次世代研究者挑戦的研究プログラムの支援学生を募集します。 

We are now accepting applications for the Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation (SPRING) from doctoral students of Osaka Metropolitan University who were admitted in Spring 2025 (April) or Fall 2025 (September/October), as well as prospective students enrolling in Spring 2026 (April) or Fall 2026 (September/October).

＜事業について＞

本学は、博士後期課程の学生を対象とした文部科学省および国立研究開発法人科学技術振興機構(JST)の「次世代研究者挑戦的研究プログラム」(SPRING)に採択されています。それぞれの研究の深化・発展の場として、他の領域・分野の専門知を積極的に吸収し、多様な専門知を有機的に結合して社会課題の解決や先導的研究領域の創成、未来の社会像を抽出してそれを具現化する能力を養成する「総合知養成の場」へと発展させることを目的として、「リゾーム型研究者人材育成」を掲げてきました。
これをさらに展開して、本学が地域中核・特色ある研究大学強化促進事業で掲げる「マルチスケールシンクタンク機能を備えた成熟都市創造拠点の構築」に貢献し得る人材を持続的に輩出することを目的として、視野の広いリゾーム型の研究者を目指す優秀な博士学生を支援します。　


＜申請資格＞  

2025年春入学者、2025年秋入学者、2026年春入学予定者もしくは2026年秋入学予定者として、大阪公立大学大学院博士後期課程（3年制）もしくは博士課程（4年制）の研究科の選抜試験を受けて合格通知を得ている者、すでに出願した者、あるいは出願を予定している者であり、標準修業年限内（長期履修生の場合は認められた期間内）に学位を取得する意思のある者を対象とします。


＜支援内容＞

  • 研究奨励費（生活費相当額）：年間210万円(半年105万円）
  • 研究費：年間10万円または20万円(半年5万円または10万円） 
  • キャリア開発・育成コンテンツ費：申請審査あり（海外留学、国際学会、インターンシップ、国内留学、自主プロジェクト活動、論文投稿、国内学会等）

  • 2025年春入学者、2025年秋入学者（2026年4月支援開始）
    7名程度(予定)

  • 2026年春入学予定者（2026年4月支援開始）
    74名程度（予定）

  • 2026年秋入学予定者（2026年10月支援開始）　
    4名程度(予定)

＜支援期間＞

・2025年春入学者 ： 2026年  4月1日から標準修業年限まで

・2025年秋入学者 ： 2026年  4月1日から標準修業年限まで

・2026年春入学予定者 ： 2026年  4月1日から標準修業年限まで

・2026年秋入学予定者 ： 2026年10月1日から標準修業年限まで

＊支援期間中に休学する場合は、その事由により支援打ち切りの可能性があります。

＊本選考での選抜者であっても支援対象外となる場合があります。詳しくは募集要項にて、ご確認願います。

＜選考日程＞ 

■申請期間：2026年2月4日（水）～2月28日（土） 23：59締切　（申請フォーム入力送信期限） 

■面接試験：2026年3月9日（月）～3月31日（火）のうち指定する20分程度  ZOOM（7分プレゼンテーション 13分質疑応答）　　　

■合格発表：2026年4月24日（金）を予定

■選考方法：小論文（100点）ならびに面接（100点）の採点結果に基づき評価します。 

※ 採点は募集要項に掲載している評価表の項目内容に沿って、実施されます。

〈About this Program〉 

Osaka Metropolitan University has been selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) for the Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation (SPRING), which provides support to doctoral students.
The University has promoted “the Development of Rhizome-Type Researchers,” aiming to develop doctoral education into a place for cultivating “comprehensive knowledge,” where students actively absorb expertise from other fields and disciplines and organically integrate diverse specialized knowledge to solve social issues, create leading research domains, and identify and realize future visions of society.
Building upon this concept, the University supports outstanding doctoral students who aspire to become researchers with a broader perspective and contribute to the University’s goal of establishing a “mature city creation hub with a multi-scale think tank function,” as stated in the Program for Forming Japan’s Peak Research Universities (J-PEAKS).



〈Eligibility 〉

This support program targets doctoral students who were admitted in Spring 2025 or Fall 2025, or who plan to enroll in a 3-year or 4-year doctoral program in Spring 2026 or Fall 2026 (including those who have received an acceptance notification after taking the entrance examination for a graduate school of Osaka Metropolitan University, those who have already applied for admission, or those who are planning to apply for admission), and who intend to obtain the doctoral degree within the standard study period (or within the approved period for those in a long-term enrollment). 


〈Support〉

  • Research Incentive Fund (equivalent to living expenses): 2.1 million JPY per year (1.5 million JPY per half-year)
  • Research Grant (for their own research activities): 100,000 JPY or 200,000 JPY per year (application-based)　
  • Career Development and Training Content Funding: application-based support Details will be provided to selected students during the orientation session.


〈Number of Students to be Accepted〉

  • Students admitted in Spring 2025 / Fall 2025 (support begins April 2026):
    approx. 7 students　
  • Prospective students enrolling in Spring 2026 (support begins April 2026):
    approx. 74 students　
    (Japanese students and international students: approx. 69; working students: approx. 5)　
  • Prospective students enrolling in Fall 2026 (support begins October 2026):
    4 students


〈Support period〉

  • Students admitted in Spring 2025: from April 1, 2026 until the end of the standard study period　

  • Students admitted in Fall 2025: from April 1, 2026 until the end of the standard study period　

  • Prospective students enrolling in Spring 2026: from April 1, 2026 until the end of the standard study period　
  • Prospective students enrolling in Fall 2026: from October 1, 2026 until the end of the standard study period

※If you take a leave of absence during the support period, the support may be terminated depending on the reason.

※Even if you are selected through this screening process, you may not be eligible for support under certain  circumstances. (For details, please refer to the Application Guidelines.)



〈Selection Schedule〉

■Application Period: February 4 (Wed), 2026 – February 28 (Sat), 2026, 23:59 (JST)

■Interview: Between May 9 (Mon) and May 31 (The), 2026
 Conducted via ZOOM, approx. 20 minutes (7-min presentation, 13-min Q&A)

■Results Announcement: Scheduled for April 24 (Fri), 2026

■Selection Method: Evaluation based on Essay (100 points) and Interview (100 points)

※Scoring will follow the provided in the Application Guidelines.
