2026年6月17日（水）、本学杉本キャンパスの学術情報総合センター 10階大会議室にて「2026年度未来座談会」を開催いたしました。

本イベントは、未来に活躍する人材の育成をテーマに講演、および講演者を交えた座談会を通じて、参加学生が自身の今後の研究やキャリア形成について視野を広げ、交流と学びを深めることを目的としています。

当日は、プログラム事業統括である重松副学長による開会挨拶に続き、情報学研究科の阿多 信吾教授、看護学研究科の森本 明子教授をお招きし、それぞれの専門分野から見た未来社会像などについて、話題提供がありました。

続いて、重松副学長・阿多教授・森本教授による座談会が開催され、それぞれのお立場から未来を考えることの意義について、意見が交わされ、大変有意義な学びの機会となりました。

最後に、グループディスカッションにおいては、自身と全く異なる分野の学生でグループを編成し、それぞれのグループ内にて自己紹介やテーマに関する意見交換を行いました。

今年度から「未来座談会」と「異分野研究交流会」を組み合わせ、年間を通じた共通テーマを設定し、グループ交流活動を継続的に実施することで、選抜学生間の関係構築の強化ならびに異分野の専門知に触れる機会の増加を目指します。

30分間という短い時間ではありましたが、自己紹介に留まらず、共通テーマである「来るべき未来社会を考え、その未来で起こりうるであろう社会課題の解決、あるいは、創出したい未来社会の提案」について、議論を開始しているグループも複数見られました。

今後、第1回異分野研究交流会では、このテーマを掘り下げた「来るべき未来社会を考え、その未来で起こりうる社会課題の解決、あるいは創出したい未来社会」の提案について、第2回異分野研究交流会では、最終報告として「来るべき未来社会を考え、その未来で起こりうるであろう社会課題の解決、あるいは、創出したい未来社会」の創造のために各グループあるいは個人で貢献できる内容・取り組み（リゾーム型研究者（分野横断的に知をつなぐ研究者）として）を、グループプレゼンテーションとして発表いただく予定です。

開催後の参加学生アンケートもおおむね好評で、「自身とは異なる分野の学生の方々とのグループワークは刺激的でおもしろかった。」「先生方が現在のキャリアを選んだ理由をもっとお聞きしたい。」「就職活動の相談等、身近な悩みについても先輩方に相談できるような関係を築きたい。」など、学生が未来の自分の在り方について考える動機付けとなる座談会となりました。

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, Osaka Metropolitan University held the FY2026 Future Vision Discussion Session in the Main Conference Room on the 10th floor of the Academic Information Center at the Sugimoto Campus.

This event aims to broaden participants’ perspectives on their future research and career development through keynote talks and discussions with invited speakers, while fostering interdisciplinary exchange and mutual learning among students. The overarching theme is the cultivation of talent capable of contributing to future society.

The event opened with remarks from Vice President Takaaki Shigematsu, Program Director of the SPRING Program. This was followed by invited talks from Professor Shingo Ata of the Graduate School of Informatics and Professor Akiko Morimoto of the Graduate School of Nursing, who shared their perspectives on the future of society from their respective academic fields.

A panel discussion featuring Vice President Shigematsu, Professor Ata, and Professor Morimoto then explored the significance of thinking about the future from different professional and academic perspectives. The session provided students with a valuable opportunity to gain new insights and broaden their viewpoints.

The event concluded with group discussions in which students from entirely different academic disciplines were assigned to the same groups. Participants introduced themselves and exchanged ideas related to the annual theme.

Starting this year, the Future Vision Discussion Session and the Interdisciplinary Research Exchange Meeting have been integrated through a common annual theme. By promoting continuous interdisciplinary interaction throughout the year, the program aims to strengthen connections and collaboration among selected students.

Although the group discussion session lasted only 30 minutes, several groups moved beyond self-introductions and began discussing the common theme:

“Envisioning future society, addressing emerging social challenges, and proposing the future society we wish to create.”

Looking ahead, participants will further develop their ideas during the First Interdisciplinary Research Exchange Meeting, where they will explore proposals for future society and solutions to emerging social challenges. At the Second Interdisciplinary Research Exchange Meeting, students will deliver final group 

presentations outlining how they, either individually or as a team, can contribute to realizing such a future society as Rhizome-Type Researchers—researchers who connect knowledge across disciplines.

Feedback from the post-event student survey was generally positive. Participants commented that “Working with students from completely different disciplines was stimulating and enjoyable,” that they “would like to hear more about why the professors chose their current career paths,” and that they hoped to “build relationships with senior researchers through which they could seek advice on career development and job hunting, as well as other concerns.” These comments suggest that the event successfully encouraged students to reflect on their future selves and envision their roles in society.
