大阪公立大学博士後期課程・博士課程に2025年秋入学予定者を対象とした次世代研究者挑戦的研究プログラムの支援学生を募集します。

Osaka Metropolitan University is now recruiting student applicants for the Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation (SPRING), targeting those who plan to enroll in its doctoral programs (3-year or 4-year) in Fall 2025.

＜事業について＞

本学は、博士後期課程の学生を対象とした文部科学省および国立研究開発法人科学技術振興機構(JST)の「次世代研究者挑戦的研究プログラム」(SPRING)に採択されました。それぞれの研究の深化・発展の場として、他の領域・分野の専門知を積極的に吸収し、多様な専門知を有機的に結合して社会課題の解決や先導的研究領域の創成、未来の社会像を抽出してそれを具現化する能力を養成する「総合知養成の場」へと発展させることを目的として、「リゾーム型研究者人材育成」を掲げてきました。
これをさらに展開して、本学が地域中核・特色ある研究大学強化促進事業で掲げる「マルチスケールシンクタンク機能を備えた成熟都市創造拠点の構築」に貢献し得る人材を持続的に輩出することを目的として、視野の広いリゾーム型の研究者を目指す優秀な博士学生を支援します。　

＜申請資格＞

大阪公立大学大学院博士後期課程（3年制）もしくは博士課程（4年制）の研究科に、2025年秋(9・10月)に入学予定者である者（出願中含む）

＜募集人員＞

2025年秋(9・10月)入学予定者：3名程度

＜支援内容＞

研究奨励費（生活費相当額）：年間210万円(半年105万円）
研究費：年間10万円または20万円(半年5万円または10万円）
キャリア開発・育成コンテンツ費：申請審査あり（海外留学、国際学会、インターンシップ、国内留学、自主プロジェクト活動、論文投稿、国内学会等）

＜支援期間＞

　2025年秋(9・10月)入学予定者：2025年10月1日～標準修業年限まで

＊支援期間中に休学する場合は、その事由により支援打ち切りの可能性があります。また、本選考での選抜者であっても支援対象外となる場合があります（詳しくは募集要項にて、ご確認願います）。

＜選考日程＞

■申請期間：2025年7月2日（水）～8月11日（月） 23：59締切　（申請フォーム入力送信期限）

■面接試験：2025年8月18日（月）～9月3日（水）のうち指定する20分程度 ZOOM（7分プレゼンテーション 13分質疑応答）　　　

■合格発表：2025年9月30日（火）を予定

■選考方法：小論文（100点）ならびに面接（100点）の採点結果に基づき評価します。

※ 採点は募集要項に掲載のルーブリック評価表の項目内容に沿って、実施されます。

〈About this Program〉

Osaka Metropolitan University has been selected for the Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation (SPRING), a program launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), to support doctoral students.

With the aim of cultivating a “comprehensive knowledge platform” where students deepen and develop their own research while actively incorporating expertise from other disciplines and organically integrating diverse knowledge domains, Osaka Metropolitan University has promoted the concept of Rhizome-Style Researcher Development. This fosters the ability to solve complex social issues, create new research frontiers, and envision and realize future societal models.

Building on this initiative, we aim to support outstanding doctoral students who aspire to become broad-minded, rhizome-style researchers. These individuals are expected to contribute to the realization of OMU’s strategic mission under the Regional Core and Distinctive Research University Enhancement Program: the creation of a mature urban development hub equipped with multi-scale think tank functions.

〈Application Eligibility 〉

Applicants who are currently applying or planning to apply to a 3-year or 4-year doctoral program at Osaka Metropolitan University, with enrollment scheduled for Fall (September/October) 2025.

〈Number of Students to be Accepted〉

Fall (September/October) 2025 enrollees: approx. 3 candidates

〈Details of Support〉

Research Incentive Fund (support for living expenses): 2,100,000 yen per year (1,050,000 yen per half-year)
Research Funding: 100,000 or 200,000 yen per year(50,000 yen or 100,000 yen per half-year)
Career Development and Training Content Funding: subject to application and review (study abroad, international/domestic conferences, internships, independent projects, paper submission, etc.)

〈Support period〉

Fall (September/October) 2025 enrollees: From October 1, 2025 to the end of the standard study term

※If you take a leave of absence during the support period, the support may be terminated depending on the reason.
In addition, even if you are selected through this screening process, you may not be eligible for support under certain circumstances. (For details, please refer to the Application Guidelines.)

〈Selection Schedule〉

■Application Period: July 2 (Wed) – August 11 (Mon), 2025 (Deadline: 23:59 JST)

■Interview: Between August 18 (Mon) and September 3 (Wed), 2025
Conducted via ZOOM, approx. 20 minutes (7-min presentation, 13-min Q&A)

■Results Announcement: Scheduled for September 30 (Tue), 2025

■Selection Method: Evaluation based on Essay (100 points) and Interview (100 points)
　※Scoring will follow the rubric provided in the Application Guidelines.

Essay (100 points) and Interview (100 points)

Evaluation (scoring) will be performed in accordance with the results of the essay and interview. Scoring will be based on the Rubric Evaluation Table. The Rubric Evaluation Table is provided in the application guidelines.
