Welcome to Cell & Tissue Engineering Laboratory
Our laboratory is engaged in research to understand the mechanisms of cell differentiation and intercellular communication in animal organs and tissues (especially the central nervous system), and to develop cell culture techniques and biomaterials that are useful for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering by regulating the function of these cells. In other words, our research aims to construct systems that can replace the functions of organs and tissues. In addition, we are also studying irradiation techniques for chemically modifying biomaterials used in these studies. We aim to develop new technologies for bioengineering and medical engineering by combining methodologies such as cell culture techniques, functional analysis of cells by biochemical and molecular biological methods, in addition to molecular theoretical approaches for dealing with proteins, lipids, polysaccharides, and other biopolymers.
