大山研究室について
大山研究室では、植物生産にかかわる一連の研究により、「食料生産におけるSDGsの達成」を目指しています。
食料の源となる植物の光合成、さらに成育は、光、温度、CO2といった環境に影響をおよぼされます。植物生産システムでは、これら環境を光合成に適するように調節するために、電気、化石燃料（たとえば、重油）、農薬、肥料といった様々な資源が利用されています。
「食料生産におけるSDGsの達成」のためには、光合成を最大化して植物生産量を増大させるだけではなく、上述した資源を有効利用してその消費量を最小化する必要があります。そのための手段として、私たちは、植物生産におけるスマート技術（たとえば、植物生産におけるICT化）に着目しています。また、植物生産システムにおけるエネルギーおよび物質収支解析にもとづいて、資源の有効利用や環境負荷低減に関する研究も進めています。
2024年4月現在、私たちの研究室は、1名の教員、1名の特任研究員、1名の博士後期課程学生、3名の博士前期課程学生、2名の学域生および3名の事務補佐員により構成されています。個々の学生の研究テーマは異なっているものの、「食料生産におけるSDGsの達成」という一貫した目標の下、それぞれの研究テーマが進められています。また、様々な研究機関、民間企業と連携して、研究を進めています。
The Ohyama laboratory aims to achieve the SDGs (Sustainable Developmental Goals) in food production through a series of studies on plant production.
Photosynthesis as well as the growth and development of plants that are food sources are affected by the environmental factors, including light, temperature, CO2. In plant production systems, various resources, such as electricity, fossil fuels (e.g., heavy oil), pesticides, and fertilizers, are used to control these factors to establish a suitable environment for photosynthesis.
To achieve SDGs in food production, we must not only maximize photosynthesis to increase plant production but also minimize resource consumption. To achieve this objective, we focus on smart technologies used in plant production (e.g., ICT in plant production). We are also conducting research on the effective use of resources and mitigation of environmental impacts based on energy and mass balance analysis in plant production systems.
As per April 2023 statistics, our laboratory consists of one faculty member, one doctoral student, one master course student, two undergraduate students, and two administrative assistants. Although the research topics of individual students are different, they are all working toward the common goal of achieving the SDGs in food production. In addition, research is being conducted in collaboration with various research institutes and private companies.
