| Abstract | Institute of Mathematics for Industry (IMI) is founded in 2011 as a research institute in Kyushu University, and is one of the five MEXT Joint Usage/Research Center in mathematical science (the others are Osaka Central Advanced Mathematical Institute, Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Institute of Statistical Mathematics, Meiji Institute for Advanced Study of Mathematical Sciences). Each of the five centers has its own characteristics and activities. In this occasion,I show the activities of IMI, with the organization of IMI. This may be an opportunity to start a discussion on challenge and future. |
