Connecting with the World

The Graduate School of Informatics has signed exchange agreements with various overseas universities and research institutes, with which it mutually exchanges students and conducts international joint research. The major organizations are as follows.

(1)Germany: German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) / RPTU (Rheinland-Pfälzsche Technische Universtät)

The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) is a research institute unlike any other in the world, which was established during the second boom of artificial intelligence in the 1980s and has continued to develop even after the boom ended. With more than 720 researchers, it conducts a wide range of research from basic to applied artificial intelligence. Professor Andreas Dengel (photo) at DFKI and the Graduate School of Informatics have conducted international joint research for over 25 years. In FY2022, DFKI Lab Japan opened on campus. The Graduate School of Informatics also has a cooperative relationship with RPTU (Rheinland-Pfälzsche Technische Universtät) located near DFKI, and there is a mutual exchange of students (several students per year).
