Center for Teacher Education
Message from the Director of the Center for Teacher Education
The Center for Teacher Education was established simultaneously with the founding of Osaka Metropolitan University in April 2022.
Both Osaka City University and Osaka Prefecture University have a long history of producing teachers who are active throughout Japan, particularly in the Kansai region. Continuing this tradition, Osaka Metropolitan University has established the Center for Teacher Education as the core organization for managing the teaching curriculum, in cooperation with the Teaching Curriculum Committee.
Osaka Metropolitan University aims to develop teachers with a comprehensive perspective based on a broad academic foundation. As an advanced research university, we are dedicated to training teachers who possess high expertise in their subjects and can also lead students in inquiry-based learning. Additionally, we are committed to fostering teachers who are engaged in various initiatives to achieve the SDGs, including human rights education.
The Center for Teacher Education is dedicated to meeting the needs of students who aspire to become teachers and obtain teaching licenses.
