後藤 慎介 （教授）
「生物が環境に適応するしくみとその進化」について研究を行っています．現在は３つの適応（季節への適応，潮汐環境への適応，極限環境への適応）に関して研究しています．
2014年から2022年まで，生理昆虫学の専門誌Physiological Entomologyの編集長を務めました．
研究をはじめてから（最初の論文を発表してから）かなりの年月が経過しましたが，今でも「生きものってすごいなぁ，よくできてるなぁ」という感動があります．生物学っておもしろい！
渕側 太郎 （准教授）
昆虫をはじめとする動物が、単なるオスとメスの関係にとどまらず、個体間のつながりの中でどのように活動期と非活動期の周期を調整しながら生きているのかを研究しています。生物の活動期と非活動期の周期性は『生物リズム』と呼ばれ、特に約一日周期のものは『概日リズム』といいます。概日リズムは生物が置かれる社会的な環境によって柔軟に変化することが近年明らかになってきました。しかし、その変化を制御するしくみには、まだ多くの謎が残されています。この“柔軟に変化する概日リズム”のしくみを一緒に解き明かしてみませんか？ さまざまな生き物がもつ多様な生き方を知ることは、私たちが次なる有用な知識を生み出す大切な土台になります。
