Prospective Students

Doctoral Degree Program

All majors offer degrees in English.

Students who intend to earn a degree in English must find an academic supervisor and obtain permission to apply prior to proceeding with the application process.

Those who are fluent in Japanese and intend to earn a degree in Japanese must also find an academic supervisor and obtain permission to apply before proceeding with the application process.

Step 1

Refer to the Researchers Information webpage to find a prospective academic supervisor. Please note the supervisor must be a professor, an associate professor, or a lecturer qualified to supervise doctoral students.

Step 2

Contact your prospective academic supervisor with your CV and desired research topic. If you do not have their contact information, please refer to the Admissions Office contact listed below.

Step 3

Once you have received permission from your academic supervisor to apply, please follow the application instructions. The documents required can be found in the guidelines below.

If you have not obtained permission from your academic supervisor to apply as stated in steps 1 and 2 above, you will not be able to proceed with the application process even if you submit the application documents.

Master's Degree Program

All courses are taught in Japanese. No English-language courses are offered.
