Signing ceremony held for MOU renewal and launch of a double degree program with the University of New Mexico
On February 11, 2026, Vice President Toshiyuki Matsui and Professor Yong-Gu Shim of the Center for Advanced Education in Entrepreneurship and Innovation visited the University of New Mexico (UNM) to hold a signing ceremony for the MOU renewal and establishment of a new double degree program.
At UNM, President Garnett S. Stokes, along with Dean Alina Chircu, Professor Robert DelCampo, and other representatives from the Anderson School of Management, welcomed the OMU delegation. Participants reflected on the long-standing relationship between the two universities and exchanged updates on current initiatives.
Through this renewed agreement, a double degree program has been launched between OMU’s Graduate Course for System-inspired Leaders in Multidisciplinary Science (SiMS) and UNM’s Anderson School of Management. Under this program, in addition to their studies at OMU, students can earn a master’s degree from UNM upon completing the designated program requirements.
Following the ceremony, the OMU delegation met with staff members from UNM’s Global Education Office to discuss opportunities for expanding future collaboration. They also attended the final presentations of OMU students taking part in a short-term study program at UNM. This provided an opportunity to observe ongoing exchanges between the two universities.
OMU will continue to strengthen its partnership with UNM and further advance international academic collaboration.
