Delegation from Srinakharinwirot University pays courtesy visit to President Sakuragi
On April 3, 2026, a 30-member delegation from Thailand’s Srinakharinwirot University (SWU), led by President Cholvit Jearajit, paid a courtesy visit to President Hiroyuki Sakuragi on Morinomiya Campus.
Representing OMU were Vice President Masahide Takahashi, as well as Professor Katsunori Kaneko from the Graduate School of Economics and Professor Fumio Nagai from the Graduate School of Law, both of whom have made significant contributions to advancing academic exchange with Thailand. Also in attendance were Dean Miyuki Nakayama and Professor Yoshie Yokoyama from the Graduate School of Nursing, which has maintained a long-standing collaborative relationship with SWU.
The meeting began with welcoming remarks from President Sakuragi, who expressed appreciation for the long-standing friendship between the two universities, followed by an introduction of OMU’s initiatives involving Thailand. Professors Nagai and Kaneko then shared their experiences working with their Thai counterparts and outlined their respective research fields. In response, SWU President Jearajit expressed his gratitude and outlined his hopes for broader collaboration.
Professor Yokoyama and Dr. Vanida Visuthipanich, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at SWU, also gave thanks for the successful partnership that has developed to date. The participants then engaged in an exchange about possibilities for future collaboration going forward.
This visit further deepened the bond between OMU and SWU and contributed to the development of a collaborative relationship encompassing both education and research.
