INALCO Vice President visits OMU, delivers special lecture
On May 7, 2026, OMU welcomed Professor Gilles Forlot, Vice President for European and International Affairs at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO), for a courtesy visit. He was received by OMU Professor Masahide Takahashi, Vice President for International Affairs. Associate Professor Mayo Oyama of the Graduate School of Literature and Human Sciences, who has maintained a long-standing academic relationship with Vice President Forlot, was also in attendance.
During the meeting, Vice President Forlot and Vice President Takahashi introduced their respective universities, highlighting their academic strengths, international strategies, and current initiatives in education and research. The discussion provided a valuable opportunity to deepen mutual understanding and to exchange views on strengthening academic cooperation, including the promotion of student exchange programs.
Vice President Forlot then delivered the special lecture, “Quelques problématiques de la didactique des langues moins enseignées — Le cas de l’nalco” (Some issues when teaching less commonly taught languages — The case of INALCO), at the Graduate School of Literature and Human Sciences.
OMU looks forward to further developing its relationship with INALCO and expanding opportunities for meaningful academic exchange in the future.
