IIT Roorkee professor visits Nakamozu Campus

On July 2, 2026, Professor Raman Balasubramanian from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR) met with Vice President Masahide Takahashi on Nakamozu Campus.

 

Professor Balasubramanian was accompanied by Ms. Ankita Agrawal, a Ph.D. student currently conducting research at OMU through the JST LOTUS Programme, and Professor Masakazu Iwamura from the Graduate School of Informatics, who serves as her host researcher. Professor Hideaki Hisamoto from the Graduate School of Engineering and Specially Appointed Assistant Professor Shrey Singh from the Graduate School of Informatics were also present.

The meeting began with welcoming remarks by Vice President Takahashi, who introduced OMU’s initiatives in international exchange and research collaboration. Professor Balasubramanian then provided an overview of IITR’s educational and research activities and expressed his hopes for further collaboration between the two institutions. In a subsequent discussion, the participants exchanged views on opportunities for future research collaboration and academic exchange, particularly in the field of informatics.

 

This meeting provided a valuable opportunity to explore possibilities for further cooperation. OMU will continue to promote partnerships with universities and research institutions in India as part of its ongoing efforts to advance the internationalization of education and research.
