In Memory of Keigo Higashino
It is with profound sadness that we received the news of the passing of Keigo Higashino, one of Japan’s most acclaimed authors and a distinguished alumnus of our university. On behalf of the faculty, students, staff, and alumni of Osaka Metropolitan University, I extend our deepest condolences.
Higashino, who graduated from Osaka Prefecture University, made an extraordinary contribution to contemporary literature through works distinguished by originality, imagination, and masterful storytelling. His novels transcended national borders, captivating readers around the world and establishing him as one of Japan’s most distinguished authors.
To all of us at Osaka Metropolitan University, Higashino was far more than an internationally celebrated author. He was an exceptional alumnus whose achievements brought great distinction to his alma mater and whose legacy continues to inspire us.
During this time of loss, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who mourn his passing.
We will forever remember Higashino and his lasting impact.
