Nature Index Research Leaders 2026: OMU ranks 300th globally and 9th in Japan in Chemistry

On June 12, 2026, Springer Nature released the Nature Index Research Leaders 2026. The Nature Index is an annual ranking of research institutions based on their contributions to research articles published in selected leading journals across the fields of natural sciences, health sciences, applied sciences, and social sciences. An independent panel of researchers selects the journals that count towards a university’s ranking.

 

Osaka Metropolitan University ranked 300th globally and 9th in Japan in the Chemistry category of the Academic sector.

 

OMU also ranked among the global top 500 (Academic sector) in the following categories:

  • Applied Sciences: 483rd globally (12th in Japan)
  • Natural Sciences: 475th globally (17th in Japan)
