Autumn graduation and degree conferral ceremony held

On Thursday, September 22, 2022, the Autumn graduation and degree conferral ceremony was held at the 140th Anniversary Auditorium on the Sugimoto campus and at the Conference Hall on the Nakamozu campus. Graduates received degrees from OCU, OPU, and OMU. With all of the OMU graduates—the first in the history of the university—receiving thesis-based doctoral degrees.

The ceremony was held with a minimal number of participants to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and was live-streamed online. President Masahiro Tatsumisago handed out each diploma individually, in front of the audience of vice presidents, deans, academic advisors, graduates, and other audience members who watched in person and online.

Delivered the ceremonial address, President Tatsumisago stated “Although the future remains uncertain, I hope that you will cherish your interactions with others and look forward to the future with strength.”
