OMU ranks 201-300th globally (9-16th domestically) in THE Impact Rankings 2023!

On June 1, 2023, OMU was ranked 201-300th globally (9-16th domestically) in the overall ranking of "THE Impact Rankings 2023" announced by Times Higher Education (THE), a British magazine (Note 1). “THE Impact Rankings 2023” visualizes universities’ social contributions through the framework of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The rankings survey started in 2018 and this year marks the fifth edition. Last year, Osaka Prefecture University was ranked 301-400th globally (15-26th domestically) and Osaka City University was ranked 801-1000th globally (49-52nd domestically) in the overall ranking. Both the global and domestic rankings have improved compared to last year.

OMU was evaluated highly for its efforts such as reporting on each SDG in the Environmental Reports (Note 2) and biodiversity-related activities that position the entire Nakamozu Campus as a biotope.

Among the 17 SDGs, OMU ranked 78th globally for SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), 101-200th for SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and 93rd globally for SDG 15 (Life on Land).

OMU will further develop these activities and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
