Professor Goto speaks at the Orientation for JSPS Postdoctoral Fellows for the second year in a row

On June 21, 2023, Professor Shinsuke Goto of the Graduate School of Science, gave a lecture at the Orientation for JSPS Postdoctoral Fellows organized by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) at the Comore Yotsuya Tower Conference in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

It was his second time giving a lecture at the orientation. Professor Goto advised postdoctoral fellows who have arrived in Japan after October 2022, on how to make their research stay in Japan smooth and effective, drawing on his own experience as a postdoctoral fellow abroad and as a host to two postdoctoral fellows in the past.

Q&A session

In addition to his advice, the participants also showed great interest in Professor Goto's research. He specializes in animal physiology and in particular, environmental adaptation and chronobiology in insects.

After all presentations, the floor was opened for a lively Q&A session between the participants and the other five speakers including Professor Goto, on topics such as tips for learning the Japanese language and building a career as a researcher in Japan.
