Professor Antonio Krüger, CEO of the German Research Center for AI (DFKI) visits OMU

On September 16, 2023, Professor Antonio Krüger, CEO of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), with which OMU has a cooperation agreement, visited OMU. At the Nakamozu campus, he toured the DFKI Lab Japan which opened in July 2022 and also paid a courtesy visit to OMU President, Masahiro Tatsumisago.

The DFKI Lab Japan in OMU is the first overseas center outside of Germany. Professor Koichi Kise, Specially Appointed Professor Shoya Ishimaru, and Specially Appointed Assistant Professor Andrew Vargo of the Graduate School of Informatics gave him a tour of the lab and shared insights on their research activities.

During the courtesy visit to OMU President, they discussed the possibility of expanding their cooperation in the future. President Tatsumisago, a tea ceremony aficionado, personally prepared matcha (powdered green tea) tray-style and served Japanese hospitality to Professor Krüger.
