On October 2, 2023, an OMU delegation* led by President Masahiro Tatsumisago and Vice President Makoto Tsubota held a signing ceremony for the renewal of the academic exchange agreement with the University of Science at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (HCMUS). The close relationship between the universities has been cultivated for over 17 years, dating back to the time of Osaka Prefecture University.

OMU and HCMUS have engaged in many academic exchanges through the SATREPS project and the Sakura Science Exchange Program of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). In addition to international student exchanges through the universities’ own educational programs, they have been actively conducting joint research on atmospheric microplastics. The agreement renewal is expected to spur further educational and research exchanges while strengthening collaboration between the two universities.
