At the forefront of particle physics: Nambu Yoichiro Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics holds international workshop on gravitational waves

From November 6-9, 2023, the OMU Nambu Yoichiro Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics (NITEP), in collaboration with the University of Alabama, USA, hosted an international workshop under the theme of “Gravitational Wave Probes of Physics Beyond Standard Model” at the Sugimoto Campus. Approximately 70 experts in particle physics, cosmology, and the gravitational wave community from around the world participated in this event.

The workshop kicked off with an opening address from NITEP Director Hiroshi Itoyama: “It is a great pleasure to host such a wonderful event at OMU. We look forward to fruitful discussions.”

During the opening session, Professor John Ellis from King's College London delivered a lecture titled “What is the source of the gravitational waves detected by NANOGrav and other PTA experiments?” This was followed by an engaging Q&A session.
