Professor Masataka Higashiwaki from the Department of Physics and Electronics at the OMU Graduate School of Engineering has been selected for Clarivate’s 2023 list of Highly Cited Researchers.

Curated by Clarivate, this list identifies researchers who have significantly impacted their respective fields by publishing multiple papers within the top 1% most cited over the past decade. This year’s roster includes 6,849 researchers from 67 nations and regions, with 87 from Japan. Being among the Highly Cited Researchers places Professor Higashiwaki in the elite 0.1% of the global research community.

This recognition marks the second time Professor Higashiwaki has been selected, the first being in 2021, highlighting his pioneering research in the development of materials and devices related to gallium oxide—a power semiconductor material.

I am honored to have earned a spot on the Highly Cited Researchers list for the second time. I attribute this recognition to the growing impact of gallium oxide materials and devices, which are gaining global recognition.
