MOU signed with Pampanga State Agricultural University of the Philippines

A nine-member delegation from Pampanga State Agricultural University visited the Sugimoto Campus to meet President Masahiro Tatsumisago and sign a memorandum of understanding on February 26, 2024.

OMU has been accepting a faculty member from the Philippine university as a doctoral student in the Graduate School of Veterinary Science since 2022. The MOU is the third to be signed with a university from the Philippines, with the aim of expanding the academic exchanges into university-level exchanges in the future.

Vice President Makoto Tsubota, six faculty members of the Graduate School of Veterinary Science, and two faculty members of the Graduate School of Agriculture also attended the ceremony.

President Tatsumisago expressed in his opening remarks the hope that this agreement will strengthen exchanges with the Philippines and that research exchanges between PSAU and the abovementioned OMU graduate schools will be further developed.

Graduate School of Veterinary Science Professor Shinji Yamasaki, the faculty member representing OMU in the current exchange program, briefly introduced the graduate school. Then PSAU Vice President Geraldine C. Sanchez spoke about her university.

After the signing ceremony, the participants engaged in a lively exchange of views over lunch.
