The Spring Graduation and Degree Conferral Ceremony for the 2023-24 academic year was held on Friday, March 22, 2024. The general degree conferment ceremony was staged at Tanaka Memorial Hall on the Sugimoto Campus. Each faculty and graduate school held degree conferment ceremonies later the same day.

The general ceremony was attended by representative students earning bachelor’s or master’s degrees from each department and all students who have finished their doctoral programs including for dissertation-only degrees.

President Masahiro Tatsumisago conferred a degree on each of these students during the ceremony, delivering a ceremonial address and offering words of encouragement.

Chairperson Shinichi Fukushima and other distinguished guests, as well as the university’s vice presidents, also attended. The ceremony was live-streamed, with deans of the graduate schools, academic advisors, and others watching online.

Osaka Prefecture University
A total of 1,397 students received degrees: 1,320 bachelor’s degrees, 29 master’s degrees, 48 doctoral degrees.

Osaka City University
A total of 1,533 students received degrees: 1,448 bachelor’s degrees, 23 master’s degrees, 57 doctoral degrees, 5 juris doctoral degrees.

Osaka Metropolitan University
A total of 1,188 students received degrees: 1,164 master’s degrees, 2 doctoral degrees, 7 juris doctoral degrees and 15 dissertation-only doctoral degrees
