This visit highlighted existing collaborations between our institutions. Professor Kunihito Tobita’s research experience at the Josef Stefan Institute in Slovenia and his interactions with the University of Ljubljana were instrumental in establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between OMU and the university, whose rector is Gregor Majdic.

Furthermore, Professor Masako Iwasaki has been contributing to the extensive international research project “Belle 2,” which involves collaboration with both the University of Ljubljana and the University of Nova Gorica, whose rector is Bostjan Golob. This ongoing project provided another strong impetus for the rectors’ visit.

During the rectors’ time on campus, Vice President Toshiyuki Matsui delivered a comprehensive presentation on OMU. The productive discussions fostered a deeper understanding and paved the way for future collaborative endeavors.

This visit served as a valuable opportunity to solidify ties with esteemed Slovenian universities.
