OMU students participate in 2024 Boeing University Externship Summer Seminar
Ever thought about how to make air travel more comfortable? Unlike the wheel, aerospace engineering and commercial air travel are still young and developing, making them ever-changing fields open to new innovations.
On September 9, 2024, a group of students from the School of Engineering’s Department of Aerospace Engineering presented their ideas at Nagoya University for the Boeing University Externship Summer Seminar. The OMU students eagerly described their ideas and answered questions in English in front of an international audience, which included Boeing Japan’s president, Eric John.
Prior to the presentation, the students attended classes in English from Boeing instructors on aerospace engineering and worked on a project to come up with novel solutions for issues affecting the aerospace industry.
The project team lead, senior Aoi Nishiyama, stated that by participating in this program, his team was able to improve their English, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. This experience will greatly benefit the team’s research and global careers.
