NAFOSTED Delegation from Vietnam Visits OMU
On Monday, October 6, 2025, a delegation from Vietnam’s National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) visited Morinomiya Campus. The delegation was led by Mr. Le Tai Dung, the Deputy Director of NAFOSTED.
The meeting began with welcome remarks by Dr. Fuminori Tokunaga, Vice President of OMU. Faculty members from various disciplines, including Associate Professor Le Thi Thanh Thuy and Specially Appointed Lecturer Hoang Hai from the Graduate School of Medicine, Associate Professor Tran Thi Hong from the Graduate School of Informatics, Professor Emeritus Yasuaki Maeda and Dr. Huynh Phuong Uyen Nguyen from the Graduate School of Sustainable System Sciences, followed with a discussion.
NAFOSTED introduced its 11 strategic research areas, and both sides exchanged views on potential future collaborations. The visit concluded with a guided tour of Morinomiya Campus, further strengthening mutual understanding and academic exchange.
OMU and Vietnam have long maintained strong academic ties through collaborative research across various fields, such as medicine, veterinary science, and environmental science, and the establishment of the OMU Hanoi Office at Hanoi Medical University.
