On October 3, 2025, a delegation of 15 officials from the Republic of Zimbabwe, led by Hon. Kembo C. D. Mohadi, Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, visited OMU Hospital. The delegation included H.E. Stewart Nyakotyo, Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Japan, Hon. Mercy Dinha, Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, Hon. Dr. Ashleigh Pencil, a postdoctoral researcher at OMU, and Mr. Zichito Jomane, a graduate student, both originally from Zimbabwe, also joined in welcoming the guests.
Dr. Motomura began the meeting with a welcome address and hospital overview, followed by warm remarks from Vice President Mohadi. The delegation then toured the hospital and showed great interest in the advanced medical facilities, including the MR-Linac, which is the only one of its kind in western Japan, as well as the Intensive Care Center and the Hybrid Operating Room.
The meeting was also covered by Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, which filmed the meeting with the Vice President and conducted interviews with Dr. Pencil and Mr. Jomane.
