54 OMU Researchers Ranked Among the World’s Top 2% Most Influential Scientists
On September 19, 2025, Stanford University and Elsevier released the Science-wide Author Databases of Standardized Citation Indicators, which ranks scientists based on standardized citation metrics. In this global assessment of scientific impact, 54 researchers from Osaka Metropolitan University (OMU) were ranked among the world’s top 2% most influential scientists. Of these, 44 were recognized for their career-long achievements and 37 for their impact in a 'single recent year.' Notably, 27 were recognized in both categories.
In addition to current faculty members, 60 emeritus professors and retired faculty members were selected in the career-long category, and 16 in the single recent year category.
