Visit from Manchester Metropolitan University to OMU’s Morinomiya Campus
On February 27, 2026, Dr. Eric Lou, Head of International for the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Manchester Metropolitan University (Manchester Met), visited Morinomiya Campus and paid a courtesy call on President Hiroyuki Sakuragi and Vice President Masahide Takahashi. This visit served as an important follow-up to OMU’s delegation visit to the United Kingdom in September 2025.
The visit began with a luncheon attended by President Sakuragi and Vice President Takahashi, together with Director Kazunobu Okazaki and Lecturer Takahiro Matsutake from the Research Center for Urban Health and Sports (RCUHS), all of whom had previously met Dr. Lou in Manchester. The group reflected on their experiences in the UK and introduced Dr. Lou to OMU’s recent international initiatives.
Following the meeting, Director Okazaki and Lecturer Matsutake guided Dr. Lou through the Main Arena and RCUHS facilities. Dr. Lou also met with international affairs staff, thus concluding the visit with discussions and concrete plans regarding student exchange opportunities.
This visit served as a valuable opportunity to explore new avenues for collaboration between OMU and Manchester Met.
