Consul General of Vietnam in Osaka visits OMU and Graduate School of Medicine co-host a seminar with Vinmec

On Wednesday, January 11, 2023, Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha from the Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Osaka visited Abeno Campus and met Professor Makoto Tsubota, Vice President in charge of International Relations.

The Consul General mentioned the opening of the OMU Hanoi Office at the Hanoi Medical University, held in November 2022, and expressed his delight at the active academic exchange between OMU and Vietnam. Vice President Tsubota mentioned that he hopes to continue strengthening OMU’s partnership with Vinmec this year, remarking that 2023 will be the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam.


After the meeting between Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha and Vice President Tsubota, a collaborative seminar between the Graduate School of Medicine and Vinmec Healthcare System was held, opened by the Dean of the Graduate School of Medicine, Norifumi Kawada, and the Consul General. Three of the six lectures were delivered by Professor Motomu Hashimoto, Associate Professor Hidetomi Terai, and Project Assistant Professor Le Thi Thanh Thuy, from OMU, where they presented their research results.
