FAQ

1.    About requests

Q. Will there be a fee for the request?

A. No fees are required for requests.
However, some organizations provide transportation expenses to students who participate in volunteer activities.

Q. Will a contract such as consignment be required when making a request?

A. We have never done it as a consignment or as an individual business. Basically, at the time of request, fill in the necessary information (summary, purpose, etc.) in the recruitment format prepared by V-station and submit it.

Q. Will Osaka Metropolitan University (OMU) Volunteer Center be in charge of joining the volunteer insurance?

A. If volunteers do not purchase insurance at a partner company, OMU Volunteer Center will purchase it all at once.

Q. When is the best time to ask for a volunteer recruitment request?

A. Two months in advance is best. This is because students usually submit shifts for part-time jobs one month in advance.
* If you will exhibit at a school festival, etc., there is an application period, so you will need to apply earlier.

Q. Who is the point of contact if I want to make a request to a student club at OMU?

A. Both the Volunteer Center and the student affairs section of our university are available.

Q. Is it possible to ask public university faculty members for their cooperation?

A. Yes. Up until now, we have the experience that we had received requests and matched with instructors who could be in charge.

2.    How to recruit students from V-station

Q. What is the method of recruiting students?

A. We will recruit on a case-by-case basis. In some cases, we advertise broadly, and in other cases, we approach students who are likely to be interested in our activities on an individual basis.

3.    Activities

Q. Will there be a charge for using the facilities on campus?

A. In the case of projects carried out in collaboration with the university, they will be lent out free of charge. Otherwise, a usage fee will be charged.

Q. What are the operating costs for activities such as events?

A. If you are involved from the planning stage of the event, you may be asked to bear the actual cost.

Q. Do I need a theme for my activities?

A. Students tend to be more likely to participate and be interested when a theme exsists.
Some students are interested in specific themes, so if the theme is decided, it will be possible to match them optimally. The goal of the Volunteer Center is to provide students with some form of learning.

Q. In the case of a project style that starts from planning, how long will it take to implement the activity?

A. It varies depending on the activity. For some activities, meetings are held for half a year, and finally lead to realization.

Q. Will it be difficult for students to participate if the days of the week are fixed?

A. It depends a lot on the participating students.
Basically, in the case of activities that you'd like students to be involved in continuously, such as learning support, which are often held on fixed days of the week, and students who want to participate will understand the purpose and participate.
