Evidence-based practice and support are necessary to scientifically analyze social problem arising from the declining birthrate, the aging population, and widening social disparity and to generate expertise for solving them. Such analysis and generation are made possible through in-depth questioning of the issues faced by modern society and the reaffirmation of the value of social welfare. The Department of Social Welfare helps students learn about theories of social welfare studies, policies related to social welfare, research methods, and social work, deepen their academic and practical understanding of these matters, and cultivate the ability to promote the resolution of social welfare issues from a political or clinical standpoint.
